Your Kind Words

Dear Fran and the CMTTF,

I just got the letter and the 7200$ cheque from the CMTTF for Pavillon Arc-en-ciel.  Thank you!  A thousand times thank you!  I can assure you the money will be spent to serve the best interests of the children.  It gives me great pleasure to know that I will be able to continue growing as a music therapist, through the work I will do with the children and the rest of the team at Pavillon Arc-en-ciel; it gives me hope, too, that music therapy will come to be known for good in the Mauricie region, since the Pavillon is the pedo-psychiatric unti of the regional hospital here.  I think that the region will be able to take over when the project comes to an end.  I can assure you that I will do my 100% for that.

Sincerement,

On behalf of the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, I would like to thank you personally for your organization’s generous contribution of $5,440.00.

As you know, the Hospital strives to provide the finest quality health care.  In these times of fiscal constraint, running Canada’s secont largest hospital is becoming a greater challenge.  Your thoughtful gift will allow us to bring the benefits of music therapy to patients in Vancouver Hospital & Health Sciences Centre.  It will decrease the physical, psychological and emotional impact of illness and pain, and will provide great comfort at a time of great need.

This hospital has earned recognition as one of North America’s most advanced health care centres and it prides itself on its compassionate patient care.  These achievements are directly related to the financial support of donors like you who are committed to ensuring quality health care for this province.

Sincerely,

Dear Fran and the Trust Board,

I just had to write and say what a terrific job you’ve all done with the Trust.  The projects, the contracts, the public image and awareness of music therapy – it’s very inspiring and exciting.

Keep up the fantastic work!

Dear Mrs. Valerie Ivy,

I am writing this letter to inform you of the wonderful success of Ms. MaireBeneviste’s Music Therapy work at Auberge Transition.  The Music Therapy was provided to the Follow-up women and their children.  Our Follow-up program is a weekly support group for women and their children who have left their abusive partners.

The women found the music therapy to be enjoyable and beneficial to their healing process.  These sessions gave the women an opportunity to explore and listen to their inner voices.  With the use of instruments toning exercises, and especially Ms. Beneviste’s guidance, the women were given the space to discover aspects of their inner being , and the ability to draw on their inner strength.  Ms. Benevist created an atmosphere of trust and freedom, a necessary component for women who are survivors of conjugal violence.

Through the course of the workshop, the women grew in terms of their self-confidence, and their ability to trust others.  These sessions were valuable in that they provided a means of expression, which may not have been made available to the women and their children were it not for Ms. Beneviste’s initiative and enthusiasm. I hope you will continue to support these survivors of violence to continue their healing journey, and choose a life without violence for themselves and their children.

Sincerely,

Sandra Grau

Dear Ms. Herman,

We wish to express our deep appreciation for the generosity of the Canadian Music Therapy Trust for funding the cost of our son Ron’s Q-Chord.  Ron is brain damaged as a result of an accident he had many years ago and has difficulty using his right hand.  However, music is his passion and the Q-Chord encourages him to use his right hand, so it has been very useful in his therapy.

Thanks again for your kindness.

Yours truly,

Marsha and Ted Batchelor

Dear Wanda,

Enclosed you will find a cheque in response to your Music Therapy Trust Fund appeal. The MTTF has been a supporter of several of my projects for clients over the years. This has enabled a large group of Inner City School children to realize their worth through innovative Music Therapy programming. It is sad that the government does not realize the value of intensive early intervention, and would rather look good by being "tough on crime" when they fail to break the chain of poverty.

Best of luck with your appeal to our community, and keep up the good work.

Dear Ms. Ivy and Ms. Herman,

On behalf of the homeless young men in the Youth Shelter operated by Transitional and Supportive Housing Services of Your Region, thank you for your very generous support of the Music Therapy Program.

Jill Hedican, the Music Therapy, has been able to develop a program to reach a traditionally very hard-to-reach group.  We have seen the significant benefits to this program in the youth who have participated, in their commitment to the program and in the changes we have seen in their behaviours.  Your support  of the program is enhancing the lives of many very vulnerable youth.

Thank you for your support.  We are excited about being able to continue the excellent work accomplished in the Music Therapy Program.

Your truly,

Monica Auerbach MSW CSW
